How much do I water Tuberose?
Water generously when pot is dry. Do not allow the plant to sit
in water. Your pot should have good drainage.
What kind of Fertilizer is good for
Tuberose?
Any type of acid fertilizer—readily available in garden stores.
Follow directions on the fertilizer for dosage.
How soon should my bulbs sprout into a
plant?
Within a month of nice warmth, your bulb should sprout.
How soon can I expect my first flower
spike?
You should have a flower during the first 6 months.
How large will
the plant get?
Normal tuberose will grow to be about 12" in diameter. The
flower spikes will be 18" to 24" tall and you may have to stake
them up for support. The flowers will bloom from the bottom
toward the top of the spike.
Can I use the flower spike in a vase?
Yes, just put in water with a flower preservative such as
Floralife, but keep the vase out of direct sunlight. |
